Bike/Walk to Work Day

Everything is starting to come together for Friday, June 11!

We'll have goodie bags to distribute at both the morning and evening events (1 bag per participant). I'm trying to think of some good schwag for the walkers.

Last night I went to some downtown businesses to ask for raffle prize donations. I think we'll have some fun prizes, but I have to do follow-up phone calls today!

Martha Merrill's owners reminded me that Friday Night Live starts up in June. If you come to Cafe de Arts in the evening, plan on sticking around downtown Waukesha to enjoy the live music on the street!

Ride of Silence

Sorry for the terrible picture quality. The Spinners put on a nice event, with some help from the Waukesha Police Department.

I was riding in memory of Jessica, a classmate of mine. I looked up to her a lot. "That's what I could be like if I were smarter and less lazy," I thought. When she died, I thought, "it could have been me."

Site seeing the "sha" by bike

A fun ride around the parkway led to this great mural below the railroad tracks.  It was created in 2007 by a small group of non profit organizations located in Waukesha.  Volunteers included La Casa, United Way, Safe N Sound and the Women's Center.

Sonia's Commute

Bonus: by biking through Frame Park I avoid two railroad crossings. Nice!
