Fun Events Coming Up!

This Monday is the 4th of July and along with celebrating independence with fireworks and a great Parade on Main Street, it's usually a good day to to get out on a bike too. Fortunately, our friend Russell in Wauwatosa gives you a good reason to do so as he's once again hosting his "4th of July Crappy Bike Ride". An event not to be missed, it will meet at Russell's house in 'Tosa from 5-7 for refreshments and bike "dress up "before departing down to State Fair Park where you can view the firworks from the grandstands. Afterwards we make a stop at Gilles Custard before making our way back to Russell's. For those looking for added adventure, a few of us will be riding down from Waukesha at 4:00pm, email me if you're interested in joining, ronsta36@yahoo.com. Email Russell (russellbjobs@yahoo.com) or hunt him down on FB for more info on his ride.

Also up again in a few weeks is the next "Bikesha" on Friday, July 22nd. Once again, we'll be gathering at Cafe de Arts from 6-7pm before touring the Fox River Parkway and downtown. Finishing up traditionally at Magellan's for their amazing pizza. This event will be sponsored by the Waukesha Bicycle Alliance, so the pizza's on us for those doing the ride! It's our way of getting more people riding more places during the best time of year in Wisconsin.

Bike To Work Day Recap

Despite the turn of the weather to cold and rain on Friday, a few dedicated cyclists still came out for Bike to Work Day. Those braving the conditions were treated to coffee and scones from Cafe de Arts, shelter from the rain and mechanical assistance from Cyclesmith.

The weather improved in the afterenoon, drawing more cyclists out to Cafe de Arts for the evening get together and raffle.

Some of the great raffle prizes from local businesses..

Huge thanks to Cafe de Arts, Cyclesmith, ProHealth Care, Spring City Spinners and Letterhead Press for once again supporting this event and all the businesses that donated raffle prizes- Poppin on Broadway, Allo Chocolat, Scott Stoll and UrbanVelo. Looking forward to better weather next year!

Locust tree

The air was full of locust blossom perfume last night.  Get out and enjoy the fragrant breezes while they're in bloom!
