Ride Of Silence

Tonight's ride was in honor of cyclists killed or injured while riding on public roads. About 50 riders came out for a slow, silent 5 mile procession around the city. The ride was preceded with some thoughtful insight by Spring City Spinner's Mark Blackman on why they started the ride here after losing their club member, Alan Belonger in an accident in 2009. Afterwards, Pastor Eric Edwards of Christ The Life Lutheran Church lead the group in prayer and Dave Burch read the Ride of Silence poem before we rolled out. It was a peaceful, sunset ride escorted by the Waukesha Police Department.  Thank you to everyone who came out and those that contributed to ride, Tim Held, Dave Burch, Pastor Eric, Mark Blackman, Spring City Spinners, Cyclesmith and the Waukesha Police.  Ride safe everyone.
