We Have A Plan!

With a lull in the action at Tuesday nights Common Council meeting, Waukesha's Bike and Pedestrian was easily adopted. Since it passed both the Public Works and Park& Rec Boards earlier, it was placed on the consent agenda for a unanimous passing (thank you Ald. Reiland for having it moved up on the agenda).

What's exciting to learn is that some of the projects in the plan are already underway. With the Grand Ave. repaving, there will be bike accomodations along there when they stripe in the next couple months. Also, East Ave. from College to Sunset will be reconstructed next year with bike lanes and Wisconsin Ave. may have bike lanes added next year. Also, the Park & Rec Board is working on getting the New Berlin connector trail improved to Carroll University, one of the links to connect it to the Glacial-Drumlin on West side of town.

Thank you to Parks Director Ron Grall and Anne Freiwald of ALTA Planning and all the various groups and individuals who contributed to this project and got it underway. Already some great things are in progress and with a solid plan in place we can look even further down the road!
