If you need a reason to burn off the leftovers after the long weekend, our last work day of the year at Minooka will be this Sunday, 9am-Noon. Meet in Picnic Area 5 (end of the road) at 8:45a. Dirt work and brush clearing-- long pants, heavy shoes or boots and gloves are suggested. Metro/WBA will supply tools. Please be prompt and RSVP so we can plan tools and refreshments. Parking permits will be issued to volunteers who don't have county park stickers. Just tell the attendant you're volunteering for trail work, we'll have the permits in the parking lot. We are very close to having the first loop finished, which will open in Spring!
Happy Thanksgiving and thank you to everyone who's helped out this Fall!
A light turnout but still a good time. Thanks to those who came, rode and donated some goods to the food pantry. Also thanks to Ayhan at Cafe de Arts and Dan at Magellan's for hosting. We'll do it again next year!
BTW, this Tuesday Magellan's is having a Sprecher Brewery beer tasting (with their fine sodas too if you have kids) and Dan is working on some specialty pizza's to go with the samples. $15.00 and details should be on their FB page.
Thank you to the 14 volunteers who came out to Minooka last Saturday. We're making great progress but there's still plenty to do.
We'll be back out at Minooka the next two Sunday mornings, meet at 8:45a in Area 5 and we'll work from 9-Noon. Pants, durable shoes and gloves will be neccessary. RSVP if you can make it, bikewaukesha@gmail .com or on Metro's site.
Thank you to the 25+ volunteers who've come out the past two Sunday's to work on mountain bike trails at Minooka Park! The first 2mile loop is nearly 25% done! Our next work day is this Saturday morning from 9-Noon. Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org if you're interested in helping out.
Thanks again to Metro Mountain Bikers and Waukesha Co. Parks for partnering with us to bring mountain biking to Waukesha.
Once again, our annual Bikesha Food Drive is coming up next Friday the 16th. As usual, we'll meet at Cafe de Arts around 6:30 and head out at 7:00pm. Cost is 3 non-perishable food items and the post-ride Magellan's pizza is on us! Prizes to the most food biked in. Helmets and lights are required and dress warm, the parkway is especially chilly this time of year. Thank you to Ayhan at Cafe de Arts and Dan at Magellan's for their continued support of our events!
